With the growing popularity of vaping comes the need to learn more about what these devices are and how to use them effectively. If you’re new to vaping, or if you’re looking to upgrade your current device, it’s important to know everything you can about vape kits before you buy one. This guide will give you all the information you need to choose the right kit, including what parts make up a complete kit and what other accessories you might want to consider as well.

What’s In My Vape Kit?

Here are the accessories that a vape kit  consists of you should know about before buying it from a vape shop:

Vape juice

The vapour in your e-cigarette comes from vapour juice, also known as e-liquid. Good vape juice is made up of propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, water and flavourings. When you heat these liquids with an atomizer—the heating element in your device—you’ll create a vapour that feels like smoke without any of the chemicals you’d get from a cigarette.

Battery

The battery is at the heart of your vaping experience. There are two types of batteries: manual and automatic. Manual batteries are often used in mechanical mods and require you to press a button before you inhale from your tank. Automatic batteries, on the other hand, activate with a simple draw on your vape pen.

Tank or Cartridge

A tank is a more advanced option and can hold larger amounts of e-liquid, which means you won’t have to refill it as often. If you find yourself changing flavours often or only smoking with friends for short periods of time, consider getting a disposable vape pen with a cartridge that doesn’t require refilling. Disposable vape pens are great for single sessions, but they aren’t recommended for regular vaping.

Mouthpiece

Whether it’s an advanced setup or a more entry-level model, your mouthpiece is part of what makes vaping comfortable. Look for a mouthpiece that feels most natural for you—it doesn’t matter if it looks ugly, so long as it doesn’t chafe or irritate your skin.

Atomizer (aka, the Heating Element)

The atomizer is basically a heating element (coil) that heats up e-liquid and converts it into vapour. Some of them are rebuildable, which means you can change and customize their coil unit if necessary. There are many different types of atomizers, some of which include rebuildable dripping atomizers, rebuildable tank atomizers, and genesis-style atomizers.

Wick and Coil Assembly

When you’re ready to start vaping, you need a setup that includes two main parts: a wick and coil assembly. A lot of experienced vapers build their own coils; if you know what you’re doing, there are tons of online tutorials available for advanced coil builds. There are also kits that let you just pop in a new pre-made wick/coil. For beginners, it’s easier to pick up a starter kit and learn as you go.

Charger and Case

The main components of a vape kit are, first and foremost, a battery and charger. The charger is like your phone’s USB cable: you plug it into an electrical outlet (or sometimes a computer) to power up your device. The case is where you keep your vape pen in between uses. If you’re an on-the-go vaper, a portable charging case is crucial so that you can keep vaping even when you don’t have access to electricity or an outlet. Some cases come with external batteries as well, which extend your charge life by providing extra power for your device. These cases usually also include built-in chargers—so you only need one cord to charge both your case and mod!

How To Maintain Your Vape Starter Kit

It’s likely that you’ll have purchased a vape starter kit as a beginner, but if you haven’t already, there are things you should know.

The most important thing is to make sure that your e-juice stays in good condition. This means keeping it away from heat and light so as not to affect its flavour or properties. Store your juice in a cool place and keep it out of direct sunlight.

If you live somewhere where there’s snow on the ground for long periods of time, consider storing your juice inside during the winter months.

Keep in mind that some juices may contain nicotine, which can melt at high temperatures. Make sure you don’t leave your juice in hot cars or near radiators when outside. If you do find yourself with some melted juice, try to use it up within 24 hours; otherwise, throw it out and start fresh!

Remember that vaping is meant to be fun—there’s no need to stress about how much money you spend on accessories like coils or new tanks!
