Even if you don’t wear ties on a daily basis, summer is the season for weddings and parties where it’s hard to escape. Unfortunately, easy-to-wearbow ties, which you can buy already knotted, are fashionable, but they don’t always match every type of suit. Sometimes a tie in a particular color is also a requirement that you must adhere to. Having trouble tying it? Here’s a guide to make it easier for you

The four-in-hand knot

The name says it all. It’s one of the easiest knots to tie. It’s also multifunctional and works with virtually any type of collar. It is asymmetrical, which makes it very intuitive and allows you to express your individual style and character.

Step by step instructional video:

Windsor Knot

This kind of knot suits shirts with widely spread collars. It is symmetrical yet very elegant, so it works well for formal occasions. It is a great choice for men with a relatively wide face and a strong chin. It also covers up a long neck and shortens it optically. In this case, it is also important for the tie to be slightly longer than a standard tie, so that it looks really chic and aesthetically pleasing.

Step by step instructional video:

Half-Windsor Knot

Less generous than the Windsor knot. Works well with wider ties and those made of thicker fabrics, but also with narrow ones. Has a rather unsophisticated and universal character. It is almost symmetrical. It will go well with any type of shirt and collar. You can use it for less and more formal occasions. If you have a strong chin, narrow face and long neck, this tie will optically shorten it.
