Drinking tea regularly not only helps you stay healthy, but also extends your life. Green tea is particularly valuable in this regard – what should you know about the beverage and other types of tea?

Why should I drink tea? What kind of tea do Poles most like to drink?

Black tea is the undisputed leader among the teas most frequently consumed by our fellow countrymen. Black tea is not only tasty and warming on cold days, but it also lowers the level of bad cholesterol and blood pressure. Many people wonder, why drink tea at all?

According to a study published in the “American Journal of Clinical Nutrition,” over the course of a 5-year experiment, it was noted that those participants who did not drink tea regularly had a much faster decline in bone mineral density than those who drank the beverage frequently.

According to the scientists responsible for the study, this healthy beverage may allow us to keep our skeleton in great condition, despite the progressive aging process. What types of tea are particularly valuable from a health point of view?

Green tea – the secret of longevity for the Japanese

Years ago, green tea was recognized as the healthiest beverage in the world. It is not without reason that its benefits are appreciated by millions of Japanese, who are one of the nations with the highest longevity rate – this is due to the regular drinking of green tea

And that’s not the end of its benefits. Green tea:

  • cleanses the body of accumulated toxins,
  • speeds up metabolism,
  • has an anti-atherosclerotic effect,
  • reduces the risk of cancer,
  • supports the immune system.

Experts emphasize that the most valuable is leaf tea, although its preparation requires a little more effort than pouring hot water over a cup with an express bag (the optimal water temperature is 70-80° Celsius).

Red tea – supports digestion and weight loss

Red tea can also offer us many health benefits. Pu-erh is especially recommended to people who want to lose excess weight – it effectively accelerates fat burning and reduces appetite.

In addition to its slimming properties, this traditional Chinese beverage has a stimulating effect and protects teeth from decay. Introducing red tea into your diet permanently also helps lower cholesterol levels and reduces the risk of cancer.

At what temperature should red tea be brewed? It is best to pour it over water that is 90-95° Celsius.

White tea – relieves stress and improves concentration

White tea is characterised by a delicate taste and aroma. It has a positive effect on the immune system – supports immunity (stimulates the synthesis of lymphocytes). It also shows antibacterial and antifungal properties and improves mood.

Drinking it regularly will help improve the condition of our teeth and gums. It is recommended for diabetics (helps stabilize blood glucose levels). This drink, just like green tea, is a strong antioxidant (delays the aging process). Remember that white tea should not be poured over boiling water – the right water temperature is about 80-90° Celsius.

Yellow tea – supports the circulatory system and cleanses the body of toxins

The last recommended drink is yellow tea – unfortunately still little known and underestimated by many people. This unique brew prevents bone fragility and inhibits free radicals. It supports not only the skeletal system, but also the cardiovascular system (as research has shown, it has the ability to dilute the blood).

Due to the trace amounts of caffeine it does not irritate the stomach, we can easily drink it before bedtime. This tasty and healthy drink also improves concentration and memory. Yellow tea should be poured with water at a temperature of 85-90 ° Celsius.
