White sneakers are a hit not only this year, but previous years as well. Everyone has fallen in love with these shoes. No wonder. They are simple, often interesting in form, and they go with everything. You can wear them in combination with a dress, as well as with pants. However, white shoes get dirty very quickly. So how to take care of white sneakers?
In summer and also in spring and autumn we like to wear white sneakers. It often happens that we hit the capricious weather. When we choose particular elements of our outfit in the morning, we do not know what can wait for us during the day. White athletic shoes get very dirty. Here’s how to keep them looking fresh and beautiful for a long time.
The sole is by far the most dirt-prone part of the shoe. It is in constant contact with the ground. A great way to keep this element clean is to clean it using white toothpaste and an old toothbrush. Simply combine the toothpaste with a small amount of water and brush the sole thoroughly. It’s a good idea to keep a few old toothbrushes on hand, which will also come in handy for cleaning hard-to-reach places.
This method is not suitable for shoes made of suede or leather. Mechanical cleaning may cause damage that will be irreversible. Therefore, only material sneakers can be thrown into the washing machine. In modern washing machines, there are special programs, which are adapted to washing shoes. It is worth remembering not to set the spin program too high. For additional protection, shoes may be placed in a special bag. After washing, shoes should be thoroughly dried in the sun or on a radiator. Remove laces and insoles from shoes before washing. Wash all these elements separately. The maximum washing temperature for shoes is 30℃.
A great patent for cleaning white sneakers is using baking soda. Its action will make white shoes lose their yellowish tarnish. Put shoes, laces and insoles separately into a bowl of warm water and pour 5 tablespoons of baking soda. For better results, you can rub the dirtiest areas with a sponge with added soda. Leave the shoes in the mixture of baking soda and water for several hours. Then, it is enough to dry them.
Dishwashing liquid can also be used for cleaning shoes. This agent dissolves grease and various dirt. You should add it to warm water and use a sponge to clean the surface of your shoes. In this case, the proportions are one part of the liquid to three parts of water. Finally, wipe the shoes with a damp cloth to get rid of excess liquid.
Another remedy from the kitchen is lemon juice. It has bleaching properties, so it will even be perfect for white sneakers. Just if you mix three teaspoons of lemon juice with water and rub until you get a satisfactory result.
In this case, only manual cleaning is involved. All for the sake of the material from which the footwear was made. Leather is delicate and so you need to handle it. Here to the rescue comes ordinary gray soap in a bar. You should soap the product with water and use a sponge or a cloth to clean the shoes. Finally, the shoes should be thoroughly wiped and dried, and then covered with a clear paste or impregnator.
