Proper hydration is essential for any body to function well. And while most people find it rather difficult to drink enough glasses on a daily basis, it turns out that there is a risk of “going one step too far”. What does that mean?

Is it possible to drink too much water?

If you drink 6 liters of water in no time at all, you are in danger of dying. How is this possible? In such a situation water intoxication occurs, so in short… we flush out from our body the necessary components for functioning. In addition, our blood is diluted, and the heart is not able to pump such an amount.

How do you know if you are drinking too much H2O? As we have already mentioned, such a story happens incredibly rarely, nevertheless it is worth knowing the symptoms. What do we include in such a group? Severe weakness, headaches, and loss of consciousness.

How much water should one drink during the day?

An adult should drink about two liters of H2O per day. Don’t like the taste of “plain water”? Add lemon slices or other fruits to it, as well as mint leaves.
