When looking for new superfoods, it’s often forgotten that those with great ingredients are in almost every kitchen. Oranges support the immune system and help you lose weight – it’s scientifically proven.

Researchers at the University of Western Ontario have made the discovery that a chemical compound found in oranges improves mood and helps burn fat., can reduce body fat, and improve mood. During research at the University of Western Ontario, this chemical compound called nobiletin was introduced into the diets of obese laboratory mice. Nobiletin not only made the mice lose a significant amount of weight, but also reversed the build-up of atherosclerotic plaques in the mice’s arteries.

Subsequent laboratory studies showed that nobiletin binds to proteins responsible for stabilizing the diurnal rhythm and regulates metabolic processes like digestion. The mice studied in the next trial were on a high-calorie diet. The group that took nobiletin in their food maintained a slim figure while the other group gained twice their weight during this time.
